Phillies' Jeremy Hellickson: Takes loss against Cardinals

Hellickson (2-2) allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks with five strikeouts over 5.1 innings in Monday's loss to St. Louis.

Analysis:

Hellickson got touched up for three home runs, the worst a three-run dinger by his counterpart Adam Wainwright. He has now served up seven home runs in six starts for a horrific 2.0 HR/9. This has been the Achilles heel for Hellickson his whole career -- he hasn't posted a HR/9 below 1.00 in his seven-year career. Hellickson is still drawing swings and misses, and his 33:10 K:BB in 31.1 innings is stellar, but it won't matter if he can't keep the ball in the yard.
