Blue Jays recall RHP Tepera from Triple-A
TORONTO (AP) The Blue Jays, who lead the majors with seven bullpen losses, shook up their relief corps Wednesday by recalling right-hander Ryan Tepera from Triple-A Buffalo and optioning ambidextrous pitcher Pat Venditte to the Bisons.
Tepera went 0-2 with a 3.27 ERA in 32 games in his rookie season with Toronto in 2015. He was 0-1 with a 7.27 ERA in eight games at Buffalo this season.
Venditte, a natural right-hander who can also pitch left-handed, had no record and a 7.36 ERA in five games with the Blue Jays. His demotion leaves Brett Cecil as the lone left-hander in Toronto's bullpen.
