It was absolutely pouring inside Rogers Centre on Saturday. And, yes, the roof was closed.
Facing his former team, the Oakland A's, for just the eighth time since getting shipped to Toronto last winter, Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson - known affectionately as the Bringer of Rain - stuck it to his erstwhile employer in the bottom of the second inning with his league-leading seventh home run of the season, a three-run blast to straightaway center.
Donaldson, the reigning American League MVP who hit .330/.398/.647 at Rogers Centre last year, also tied his personal career high for homers in the month of April, established in 2014 during his final season in Oakland.
