Chicago Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing knee surgery Tuesday.

Schwarber tore both his ACL and LCL in a violent outfield collision with teammate Dexter Fowler on April 7. His surgery was conducted by Dr. Daniel Cooper, the head team doctor for the Dallas Cowboys.

No specific timeline has been given for his return.

The 23-year-old has already established himself as a key piece of the Cubs' future. Last season he notched 16 home runs in 69 games while owning a .246/.355/.487 slash line.

In the playoffs, Schwarber belted five home runs and eight RBIs in nine games.
