Oviedo expected to start as Cardinals host the Mets

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Tomás Nido hit a two-run homer and Jonathan Villar added a solo shot and an RBI single, powering the New York Mets over the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2 on Wednesday night for a doubleheader split.
“That’s one thing we need,” Mets manager Luis Rojas said. ”We haven’t hit lot of homers. Those two came I think at a good time. I think it’s a good sign for the guys. We’ve got to carry over this approach."
