 The Phillies have swept a three-game series on the road against an AL team just three times in franchise history, with the most recent coming against the Rays from April 13-15, 2018. Philadelphia's two other three-game interleague series sweeps occurred in 2002 (at Detroit) and 2003 (at Baltimore).

 Philadelphia tied a season high with five home runs in Wednesday's 12-3 win at Washington.  Rookie Randy Arozarena went deep twice in Tampa Bay's 8-5 win over the Mets on Wednesday, giving him seven homers in 49 at-bats in September. The franchise record for homers in any month by a Rays rookie is eight, set by Evan Longoria in June 2008.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)  Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies were eliminated from the playoff race Sunday with a 5-0 loss to rookie pitcher Josh Fleming the AL East champion Tampa Bay Rays.
Philadelphia needed a win over the Rays and losses by San Francisco and Milwaukee to earn its first playoff berth in nine years. The Brewers and Giants both lost, but the Phillies were unable to give themselves a chance.
