 The Reds are percentage points ahead the Brewers for the final NL wild-card spot. Cincinnati has won four of the seven meetings with Milwaukee this season, including a doubleheader sweep (6-1, 6-0) on August 27, the last time they faced each other.

 Milwaukee swept the Royals over the weekend. Kansas City jumped out in front in Game 1, 4-0, but Milwaukee scored 19 of the next 23 runs in the series to win 9-5, 5-0, 5-3. Milwaukee is at .500 for the first time since being 11-11 and they have never been over .500 this season.

 The Reds have won three consecutive series, going 8-2 over their last 10 games. Cincinnati and its opponents have not committed an error in five straight games, the longest active streak in MLB, and tied for the second-longest streak in 2020 (only streak longer was Boston and its opponents -- 7 straight in August).
