Justin Verlander will toe the rubber for the Astros tonight, with 175 career postseason strikeouts to his name, trailing only John Smoltz (199) and Andy Pettitte (183). His 2.12 ERA in the playoffs since 2013 ranks third in MLB behind Madison Bumgarner (1.22) and Masahiro Tanaka (1.54, min. 5 starts).

Diego Castillo will get the start for the Rays as they opt for a bullpen day. Castillo started six games in the regular season, allowing six runs (five earned) over 7.1 innings (6.14 ERA). He had two scoreless outings versus the Astros in March but took the blown save and loss when he faced them on August 28.

The Houston Astros will turn to right-hander Justin Verlander in their second attempt to end the Tampa Bay Rays' season when the clubs meet Tuesday in Game 4 of their American League Division Series in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Rays used four home runs, three off Zack Greinke, to stay alive in the best-of-five series with a 10-3 win Monday in Game 3, trimming the Astros' lead in the series to 2-1.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)  The Tampa Bay Rays never doubted themselves, even with Justin Verlander looking to end their season.
Willy Adames homered and made a sensational relay throw from shortstop, and the Rays chased the Houston ace early in beating the Astros 4-1 Tuesday night to even their AL Division Series at two games apiece.
