 The Brewers have earned a second consecutive playoff berth by going 18-2 since Sept. 6, tied for the best 20-game span in franchise history (1987, 2011). Milwaukee pitchers have allowed three runs or fewer in a franchise-record 10 straight games. The last NL team to do so in 11 or more was the 2010 Giants, who had an 18-game run from Sept. 5-24, 2010.

 Milwaukee is visiting Coors Field for the first time since winning Game 3 of last year's NLDS to finish a three-game sweep of the Rockies. Counting the playoffs, the Brewers have won six of their last seven games in Denver dating back to Aug. 19, 2017 and have held Colorado to four runs or fewer six times over that stretch.

 The Rockies are 24-46 (.343) since the All-Star Game and will likely finish with their lowest winning percentage following the break in franchise history (24-41, .369 in 2003). Colorado's 6.20 ERA since the break is the second-highest in MLB history, surpassed only by the 2003 Tigers (6.28).

 Yasmani Grandal's 108 walks are the most by a catcher since the Phillies' Darren Daulton drew 117 in 1993. Grandal has walked at least once in 14 of his last 17 games and enters this series having reached base safely in a career-high 22 straight road games.

 Nolan Arenado is two RBI away from becoming the first NL player since Albert Pujols in 2009 with 40 homers, 120 RBI and a .300 average in a season. His .361 average and 1.181 OPS against Milwaukee since 2015 are his highest numbers against any NL team over that five-year period.

 Garrett Hampson is batting .407 (22-of-54) with an MLB-leading 16 runs scored since Sept. 7. The rookie has homered five times in his last 12 games after having just three homers in 273 at-bats over his first 114 contests in the majors.

In the heat of the National League Central title race, the Milwaukee Brewers missed a chance to catch the St. Louis Cardinals, who lost to the Chicago Cubs on Friday night.
However, the Brewers were far more concerned about the status of outfielder Ryan Braun, who left their Friday game against the host Colorado Rockies in the second inning due to a left calf strain.

Brewers face Rockies with division hopes in balance

DENVER (AP)  Josh Hader and the Milwaukee Brewers got the help they needed from the Chicago Cubs. They will need a little more after blowing a chance to pull even in the NL Central race.
Hader gave up a tying home run with two outs in the ninth inning and the Brewers lost to Colorado 3-2 in the 10th Saturday night, preventing them from catching St. Louis atop the division.
