 The Indians lost two of three games against the White Sox to fall two games behind the Rays for the second AL Wild Card spot. The team that finishes the season in third place in the AL Wild Card race is guaranteed to have the most wins of any team to miss the playoffs under the current Wild Card format (since 2013).

 The Nationals and the Brewers have clinched the two NL Wild Card spots. Washington has a one game edge over Milwaukee for home field advantage in the Wild Card game; the Brewers end their season with three games against the Rockies at Coors Field.

The Washington Nationals can clinch home-field advantage for the National League wild-card game when they host the Cleveland Indians on Saturday.
The Nationals improved to 91-69 with an 8-2 win over the Cleveland Indians on Friday. Their magic number to clinch home field against the Brewers (89-71) or the Cardinals (90-69) is down to one after Milwaukee's loss to Colorado on Friday night.

Nats host Indians looking to clinch top NL wild card

WASHINGTON (AP)  The Washington Nationals' surge started after they brought aboard Gerardo Parra, whose dugout dancing and "Baby Shark" walk-up music became the trademarks of the club's turnaround.
So maybe it's fitting the Nationals assured themselves of hosting the NL wild-card game by holding on to beat the already-eliminated Cleveland Indians 10-7 Saturday with the help of his grand slam in a nine-run second inning.
