 The Red Sox and Rangers split four games at Fenway Park in June. Boston has won the last three meetings in Texas and hasn't won four straight there since a five-game run spanning 2007-08.

 The Red Sox have gone 13-for-40 (.325) with runners in scoring position in their last five games, and their .294 average with men in scoring position since the All-Star break is the third-highest mark in MLB.

 J.D. Martinez has a 1.378 OPS against left-handers this season and a .797 OPS vs. right-handers. That difference of .581 from facing lefties to righties is the highest in MLB among batting qualifiers. The Rangers are slated to start southpaws in the final two games of this series.

 Boston's Eduardo Rodriguez goes in the opener after allowing an unearned run over six innings to beat the Giants last Thursday for his 18th win. Rodriguez, who has allowed one run or less in six of his last seven starts, is looking to become the first Red Sox lefty with 19 wins since Jon Lester in 2010.

 Mike Minor takes the ball for Texas in Thursday's finale after surrendering six runs in five innings in last Friday's 8-0 loss at Oakland. He has a 4.90 ERA since the All-Star Game after going into the break with a 2.54 ERA. That difference of 2.36 is the largest decrease in MLB among ERA qualifiers.

 Rougned Odor is just 2-for-22 in his last six games, dropping his average to .202, the lowest among all batting qualifiers. However, he has reached base safely in 13 straight games against Boston -- his longest active on-base streak against any team -- and is batting .311 in 19 games against the Red Sox since 2016.

Right-hander Rick Porcello takes the mound Wednesday for what could be his final start for the Red Sox as Boston faces the Texas Rangers in the second contest of a three-game series at Arlington, Texas.
Porcello (13-12, 5.56 ERA) will be a free agent at season's end, a potential end to his five-year run in Boston that included an American League Cy Young Award in 2016. He'll get the ball opposite Rangers rookie left-hander Kolby Allard (4-1, 4.25).

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)  Rick Porcello sat in the visitors' dugout following six strong innings pitched on Wednesday night and soaked in what could be his final start for the Boston Red Sox.
Christian Vazquez, Mitch Moreland and Rafael Devers homered, and Porcello improved to 14-12 as the Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers 10-3.
