 The Cardinals dropped two of three at San Francisco last month, but have won the last four meetings with the Giants in St. Louis. This is the Cardinals' longest home winning streak over the Giants since taking six in row from 1996-97.

 St. Louis is a major league-best 18-5 since August 9, leading MLB with a 3.01 ERA and four shutouts. The Cards have also won 13 of 15 at home, averaging 6.3 runs in those games.

 Yadier Molina is batting .500 (16-for-32) with four home runs, three doubles, nine RBI and nine runs in his last nine games. He had the same number of extra-base hits in his previous 158 at-bats over 44 games, with a home run and six doubles while batting .222.

 Jack Flaherty, who is scheduled to take the ball Tuesday, is 4-2 with a 1.01 ERA in his last 10 starts. In nine of those starts, he permitted two runs or less, and no pitcher has had more such starts since July 7.

 Madison Bumgarner, who is slated to pitch Wednesday, allowed a run over seven innings to beat the Padres on Friday for his 18th quality start of the season -- tied for fifth-most in the NL. In 12 starts vs. the Cards since 2012 -- including the playoffs -- Bumgarner has a 4.89 ERA -- his worst against any NL club.

 The Giants' Evan Longoria is slashing .380/.410/.634 in his last 18 games with 22 RBI to trail only Reds rookie Aristides Aquino's 23 RBI for the most in the NL since August 10. In 15 road games since July 1, Longoria has a .390/.448/.831 slash line with eight home runs and 23 RBI.

ST. LOUIS (AP)  Dakota Hudson's arm and bat gave the St. Louis Cardinals another boost in their postseason push.
Hudson pitched six innings of one-hit ball and hit a two-run single for his first big league RBIs, helping the Cardinals rout the San Francisco Giants 10-0 on Thursday to maintain a 2 1/2-game lead over the second-place Chicago Cubs in the NL Central.
