Washington took two of three games from San Francisco at home in April and is looking to win the season series after going 2-4 versus the Giants in 2018. The Nationals have won four of their last six in San Francisco, outscoring the Giants 32-14 in this span.

Both teams flew into San Francisco on Sunday night after losing games that cost them series, the Nationals dropping a 7-5 decision at Arizona while the Giants were falling 6-2 at Colorado.

Giants, Nationals look to regroup as series begins

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)  Pitching the way he did Monday night made it that much easier for Erick Fedde to forget how poorly it went his last time out.
Fedde tossed six strong innings to win for the first time in eight starts and Anthony Rendon's early run-scoring single held up as the Washington Nationals beat the San Francisco Giants 4-0.
