Colorado has won nine of the last 10 meetings in Arizona, including a three-game sweep from June 18-20 this season. The Rockies have won eight straight against the Diamondbacks (at all locations) dating back to May this season, the longest winning streak by either side in the series history.

The Rockies dropped both games of a two-game set against the Astros this week to finish their homestand at 2-4, allowing 47 runs in the six games. The Colorado starting rotation has posted 5.44 ERA and .318 opponent average over the last eight games after holding opponents to a .240 average and a 1.99 ERA over the previous seven.

Arizona suffered back-to-back walkoff losses in Dodger Stadium and has now lost four of its last five games, scoring four runs or fewer in all five. They return home to Chase Field where they're scoring just 4.44 runs per game this season compared to 5.59 runs per game on the road; that -1.15 difference is the third largest in the majors (road higher).

Charlie Blackmon enters the weekend riding a six-game hit streak in which he's gone 12-for-24 with 10 runs scored. He's hitting .339 with 20 doubles and 20 home runs this season, joining Todd Helton (2000 & 2001) and Larry Walker (1997) as the only Rockies to post those numbers through 70 player games.

Ketel Marte went 3-for-5 in the second game against the Dodgers for his seventh three-hit game since June 10 -- only Charlie Blackmon (eight) has more in that span. The first-time All-Star is hitting .312 this season after hitting .238 in the first half last season, the fourth-largest pre-All Star improvement in baseball among batting title qualifiers in each season.

Since the start of last season, Antonio Senzatela has posted a 2.30 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP in seven road starts against the NL West compared to a 5.27 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP in eight road starts against all other opponents.

Arizona ended an eight-game losing streak to the Colorado Rockies with an 8-0 win Friday in the opener of a three-game series in Phoenix. Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke threw seven scoreless innings, and first baseman Christian Walker hit two home runs and drove in a career-high five runs.

D-backs hope to build on shutout of Rockies

PHOENIX (AP)  An All-Star in 2017, Jake Lamb missed more than half of last season with a shoulder injury that required surgery. Then early this season, he strained his quadriceps and missed almost three months.
But Lamb stayed the course despite the frustration, and it paid off on Saturday night.
