 Today will be the third meeting between the Yankees and Rays on the 4th of July, with the Yankees winning the first two in 2012 and 2015. New York is 94-71-3 (.570) all-time on the 4th of July, third best among active franchises, while Tampa Bay is 8-13 (.381), second worst ahead of Colorado (10-17).

 Since 2015, the Yankees have won 20 of their 27 series against the Rays, the second-best series record by any team against a divisional opponent since then (Dodgers vs. Padres; 21-5). The Yanks have won four straight series against the Rays dating back to 2018.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)  Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees are on some kind of hot streak heading into the final weekend before the All-Star break.
Judge hit his second homer of the game leading off the 11th inning, Brett Gardner added a three-run shot and the Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-4 on Friday night.
