 Since 2017, Minnesota has gone 27-17 against Detroit and has a +70 run differential in those games. This is the Twins' best run differential versus any opponent, and the Tigers only have a worse mark against the Indians (-124).

 The Tigers last lost two of three to the Rays, scoring one run combined in their last two games. The Tigers have scored one or no runs 12 times this season -- only the Blue Jays (14) and Indians (13) have done so more times in the American League.

 Max Kepler had his second career three-homer game yesterday, with the other coming August 1, 2016 -- both of these games were in Cleveland. It was the third three-homer game by an American Leaguer in 2019, along with Gary Sanchez and Pedro Severino.

 Jorge Polanco is on a season-high eight-game hit streak, and four of those were multi-hit games. He has 23 multi-hit games in 2019, trailing only Michael Brantley (28), Nolan Arenado (26) and Javy Baez (25).

After suffering one of their most lopsided losses of the season, the Minnesota Twins will turn to American League ERA leader Jake Odorizzi in Sunday afternoon's series finale at Detroit.
The Tigers rolled up 15 hits, including a pair of home runs by JaCoby Jones and another by Christin Stewart, in handing the Twins a 9-3 loss on Saturday afternoon. The six-run deficit tied for the third-worst loss of the season for Minnesota behind a 11-0 blanking by Houston and a 14-3 defeat at Tampa Bay.
