 The Marlins are 16-10 against the Giants since the start of the 2015 season. This is Miami's second-best record versus any NL opponent in that span, and SF's 10-16 mark against the Marlins is tied for its second-worst mark against any NL team since '15.

 Dating back to April 21, the Giants are 8-4 on the road, averaging 6.17 runs per game (74 runs in 12 games). They are only 5-13 at home in that stretch, averaging 3.11 runs per contest. Overall in 2019, SF has scored 108 runs and hit 30 homers on the road, compared to 86 runs and 18 home runs at home.

 The Marlins avoided being swept in their four-game series at Washington by winning Monday's series finale, 3-2. Jose Urena earned the win, just the third by a Miami starter on the road this season. Marlins starting pitchers are 9-12 at home and only 3-11 on the road in 2019.

 Since 2015, Brandon Belt is hitting .373 (25-for-67) with a .457 on-base percentage against Miami pitching; both figures rank second among Marlins opponents in that span (minimum 75 plate appearances). Overall, Belt has gone seven straight games without an extra-base hit or RBI.

 Brian Anderson hit .272 in 24 games in April but drove in only six runs. In 22 games in May, Anderson has a .213 average (17-for-80) but has a team-high 15 RBI. He has driven in 11 runs in his last 10 games -- tied for fourth in the NL since May 17.

 Jeff Samardzija is allowing a .228 batting average on balls in play, third lowest among ERA qualifiers in 2019 and on pace for the lowest figure of his career. In each season from 2012 through 2018, the BABIP against Samardzija was over .280.

MIAMI (AP)  The Marlins were ahead on the scoreboard and closing fast in the standings when the Giants finally came up with a couple of big hits to end a skid.
Brandon Crawford delivered a tiebreaking two-run double in the eighth inning, and San Francisco broke a seven-game losing streak by rallying past Miami 3-1 Thursday.
