The Pirates are coming off a 3-game sweep versus the Dodgers, and have lost five of their last six games. Pittsburgh has won nine of its last 13 road games, despite being outscored by seven runs during this stretch.

The Reds took 2-of-3 at Wrigley Field over the weekend. Despite going just 2-2 in its last four games, Cincinnati has scored at least six runs and collected at least 10 hits in all four games.

Pittsburgh has won five out of six games against Cincinnati in 2019, and since 2018, the Pirates are 19-6 against the Reds. Pittsburgh's team batting average against the Reds since 2018 is .290 compared to Cincinnati's .224 (against the Pirates).

Josh Bell's 1.110 OPS is the fifth best by a Pirate through 50 team games of a season (minimum 155 PA) in the last 100 years behind Dale Long (1.160 in 1956), Hall-of-Famer Arky Vaughan (1.149 in 1935), Hall-of-Famer Ralph Kiner (1.127 in 1951) and Brian Giles (1.120 in 2000).

Eugenio Suarez and Josh Bell are two of the four MLB players currently leading their teams in runs scored, runs batted in, hits, doubles and home runs. The other two are LA's Cody Bellinger and Cleveland's Carlos Santana.

Luis Castillo has gone nine consecutive starts without suffering a loss, the longest streak for a Reds' pitcher since Anthony DeSclafani had an 11-start streak without a loss from June 10 -- August 5, 2016.

Opponents were just 2-for-9 (.222) with runners in scoring position against Nick Kingham in April, but in May Kingham has allowed his opponents a .500 average with RISP (14-for-28).

CINCINNATI (AP)  Derek Dietrich was describing his three-homer game for the media when Scooter Gennett walked past and put it in a slightly different perspective.
''Anybody can hit three, Derek,'' said Gennett, who did him one better in 2017.
