 After hitting only .179 last month, Ryan Braun is batting .415 in May (22-for-53), tops among all players (minimum 50 plate appearances). Braun has hit at least .400 in a calendar month one time in his career, minimum 50 plate appearances -- he batted .424 in August 2010.

 The Reds' strength of schedule between May 14 and May 29 is .592, the toughest in MLB in that span (based on opponents' current records). The Brewers have the second-toughest slate in that date range, with an opponent winning percentage of .570.

Sonny Gray and three Cincinnati relievers held down the Brewers, who were missing Yelich because of back spasms, in the Reds' 3-0 victory Tuesday night.
