The Braves have won each of the last five season series with the Marlins and have already taken two of three this season. The two teams combined for just 17 runs in that three-game set as the teams hit just .204 combined.

Atlanta split a four-game series with San Diego earlier this week, scoring just 3.3 runs per game in the series while hitting .241. The Braves rank third in MLB in batting average this year at .266, but that number drops to .229 with runners in scoring position, the third-lowest mark in baseball.

The Marlins are the only team in baseball yet to reach 10 wins this year as they rank dead last in runs per game (2.87). Their 86 runs are the second-fewest through 30 games of a season in franchise history, ahead of the 2013 season, the year they went 62-100 (82 runs through 30 games).

Since last season, Freddie Freeman has slashed .395/.459/.733 in 22 games against the Marlins with nine home runs. The only players with more home runs against a single opponent since 2018 are Christian Yelich vs. St. Louis (14), Khris Davis vs. Texas (11) and J.D. Martinez vs. Baltimore (10).

Curtis Ganderson leads the Marlins with 11 RBI this season, fewest by a team leader in MLB. Granderson is hitting just .193, second-lowest mark among qualified NL outfielders (Yasiel Puig, .178).

Kevin Gausman is 3-1 with a 1.52 ERA in four career starts against the Marlins. He pitched seven scoreless inning against the Fish on April 5, allowing just two total hits while striking out seven Marlins.
