 The Pirates lost their last two games in Chicago, splitting the series and leaving them on 80 wins for the season. One win against the Reds would give Pittsburgh its fourth winning season in the past six years. (The Pirates are only playing 161 games this season as their makeup game with Miami has been cancelled.) The Pirates starting rotation has gone 11-4 with a 3.19 ERA over the last 21 games.

 Corey Dickerson is slashing .381/.418/.778 in 15 games against the Reds this season. His 14 extra-base hits against Cincinnati are tied for the most by any National Leaguer against a single opponent in 2018. Of the four players who are tied, Dickerson is the only with games left against the opponent.

 Cincinnati has scored fewer than five runs in 14 consecutive games, tied for its third-longest single-season streak in the last 50 years (1982 and 1983 had longer streaks). The 20 runs the Reds have scored in that 14-game span are the fewest since the 2004 Expos (20 runs over 14 games).

 Scooter Gennett has 52 doubles and 50 home runs in his first two seasons with Cincinnati while maintaining a .305 average. The only Red who has achieved those numbers in their first two seasons with the club was Frank Robinson (67 homers, 56 doubles and .307 average from 1956 to 1957).

 RHP Anthony DeSclafani has limited opposing hitters to a .583 OPS in his first time through the lineup, but that number balloons to .931 over the subsequent times through. RHP Nick Kingham has a 9.00 ERA in the first inning this season and a 3.65 ERA in innings two through five.

 Pittsburgh has gone 12-4 against Cincinnati this season, outscoring their division rivals by 45 runs in the process. That would be the highest run differential the Pirates have had against a single opponent in a season since 1987 when they outscored the Cubs by 53.

Pirates visit Reds before setting sail for offseason

CINCINNATI (AP)  Jordy Mercer and Josh Harrison put arms around each other as they walked off the field after Pittsburgh's season-ending victory, enjoying perhaps their final moment together on a Pirates team they helped resurrect.
Pablo Reyes scored on Jackson Stephens' wild pitch in the top of the 10th inning Sunday, rallying the Pirates to a 6-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds that sent both teams into the offseason with notable changes ahead.
