 The Braves dropped two games in New York to the Mets after winning the six games prior. In the two losses, Atlanta's hitters managed just five hits in 15.0 innings against the Mets starters, Jacob deGrom and Jason Vargas, and their eight total hits were their fewest in a two-game span since early April.

 With 26 home runs, two more than the next closest player, Ronald Acuña Jr. is on the verge of becoming the first Braves rookie to lead the team in home runs outright since Chuck Workman in 1943. Acuña has yet to homer against the Phillies this season.

 The Phillies were swept in back-to-back four-game road series, putting them at 81 losses and on the brink of their sixth-straight sub-.500 season. Philadelphia's three errors in their last series in Colorado bring its total to 120 for the season, the most by a Phillies team in the wild card era.

 Rhys Hoskins needs six more runs batted in to become the first Phillie with triple-digit RBI since Ryan Howard plated 116 in 2011. Hoskins has slugged .692 with runners in scoring position at home this season.

 Philadelphia is 2-7 in its last nine games against Atlanta. The Phillies have scored five runs or more in just one of those games and their hitters are hitting for a .197 average. Meanwhile, the Braves have hit .247 off Phillies pitchers and .275 off Phillies starters, specifically.

  RHP Mike Foltynewicz is one of four qualified pitchers in the NL this season with an opponent batting average under .200 (Max Scherzer, Julio Teheran and Jacob deGrom). RHP Jared Eickhoff's last start was on August 30, 2017 against Atlanta, a game which saw him give up six earned runs in 2.0 innings.
