The Pirates have gone 11-5 (.688) against the Brewers this season, and have won six of seven home games. Pittsburgh has a chance to finish with its second-best win percentage against Milwaukee -- currently second best, the best-ever mark is 15-4 (.789) form 2002, and third best 12-6 (.667) from 2004.

Milwaukee took the rubber match against Cincinnati after outscoring the Reds, 16-3, over the three games. The Brewers scored at least seven runs in both victories over the Reds, improving to 35-4 (.897) when scoring at least seven runs this season.

Pittsburgh has won five straight games, and have gone 11-3 (.786) since September 3, the best record in MLB over that span. The Pirates have hit .276 in these 14 games, tops in the National League, and have won despite hitting only 12 home runs, tied for the third fewest in the NL over that span.

Christian Yelich went 7-for-12 in the Reds series, picking up four extra-base hits and knocking in four runners in the series. In the opener, Yelich hit for the cycle for the second time in 2018, becoming the fifth player in MLB history with two cycles in one season. He finished the year slugging 1.018 against the Reds, the highest mark since Hank Aaron slugged 1.019 against the team in 1972 (min. 60 PA).

Jhoulys Chacin owns a 0.74 ERA over his last four road starts -- he hasn't surrendered a home run in any of these outings and has held opponents to a .165 batting average. Chacin's season-long road ERA is 3.36, compared to his 3.79 mark at home.

Ivan Nova's ERA against the NL Central is 3.56 -- against all other opponents, that number rises to 4.36. In two starts against Milwaukee this season, Nova has allowed two earned runs in 10.2 innings, limiting the Brewers to a .366 slugging percentage.

Pirates hope to keep playing spoiler vs. Brewers

PITTSBURGH (AP)  The Milwaukee Brewers used their power to put the Pittsburgh Pirates on the ropes. Some heads-up baserunning - and more than a little help from the mistake-prone home team - pushed the Brewers closer to the club's fifth playoff berth in franchise history.
Christian Yelich, Travis Shaw and Mike Moustakas all hit homers and Milwaukee scored three times on one wild pitch in the sixth inning to break it open as the Brewers cruised to a 13-6 victory on Sunday.
