Cleveland used its AL-leading 13th shutout of the season yesterday to take two of three from the Orioles. The Indians are 9-4 in rubber games, tied with the Astros for best in MLB (min. 3-game series).

The Red Sox dropped the final game of a three-game series against the Rays, 2-0, but are a Major League-best 13-3 (.813) in August. Boston has a 28-7-5 (.763) series record this season, on pace to be the second highest in franchise history behind 1912, when the team went 30-5-7 (.798).

Mike Clevinger reached the 150-strikeout plateau in Cleveland's win yesterday against Baltimore, becoming Cleveland's fourth pitcher this season to accomplish that, joining Trevor Bauer, Carlos Carrasco, and Corey Kluber. Through 123 team games, the Indians are the fastest team in MLB history to have four pitchers with at least 150 strikeouts in a season.

Over his last four starts, Corey Kluber has compiled a 1.78 ERA and an 0.79 WHIP, while striking out 26 and walking four in 30.1 innings. Since 2013, Kluber has a 2.31 ERA in August, best in the majors over that time (minimum 150 IP in August).

In 22 career starts (11 quality) against Cleveland, Rick Porcello is 10-4 with a 3.35 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. Porcello has made 11 straight starts against Cleveland without allowing a home run, which is his longest such streak against any team at any point in his career.

Jose Ramirez ranks second in MLB in extra-base hits (71), fourth in intentional walks (14), and tied for fourth in stolen bases (27). Indians try to make it two straight over Red Sox

BOSTON (AP)  Cleveland pitcher Shane Bieber was sure to thank fellow rookie Greg Allen for making his debut at Fenway Park a successful one.
The rare times Bieber made a mistake, Allen was there to cover - no matter the distance - with a pair of catches in deep center field that helped the Indians beat the Boston Red Sox 6-3 Tuesday night.
