The Indians enter this series having won three of four games, including an 8-1 victory yesterday against Detroit in which they recorded 16 hits. It was the 12th game this season in which Cleveland has notched at least 15 hits, tied with the Cubs for the most such games in 2018.

After a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays, the Twins lost three of four games at Boston, being outscored 18-9. The nine runs were the fewest scored in a four-game series by Minnesota this season.

Ervin Santana is 4-1 with a 1.28 ERA in 42.1 innings against the Indians over his last seven starts. Santana has not allowed a home run against the Tribe in his past eight starts, his longest streak of consecutive starts in his career against any team without allowing a home run.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Leonys Martin will be added to the Cleveland Indians' active roster and available for action Wednesday afternoon when they wrap up a three-game series with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
Cleveland acquired Martin Tuesday, along with minor leaguer pitcher Kyle Dowdy, from Detroit in an effort to shore up an outfield that has been riddled with injuries this season.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)  The Cleveland Indians have turned this division race into a late-summer cruise, with the Minnesota Twins already in future-planning mode.
Carlos Carrasco struck out 10 while taking a shutout into the eighth inning, winning his fourth straight start since returning from the disabled list to carry the Indians to a 2-0 victory over the Twins on Wednesday.
