The Rays and Mets will meet for the first time since 2015 when the Rays took two of three in Tampa Bay. The Rays are just 3-9 (.250) in interleague games this season, second worst record among AL teams, while the Mets are right above them at 3-6 (.333), the second worst record among NL teams.

The Rays were shut out in their last game against Miami and have failed to score more than three runs in six of their last eight games. They have 45 games with three runs or fewer this season, third most in the AL.
