The Braves have won five of six to start their road trip, and have improved to 16-8 this season on the road (best in the National League). It is the team's best record through 24 road games since also going 16-8 in the 2003 season.

The Cubs had their five-game winning streak snapped with a 5-3 loss against the White Sox on Sunday. Despite being in fourth place in its own division, Chicago has the second-best run differential in the NL at +54 (Braves, +56).

The Braves and Cubs will play one make-up game at Wrigley Field, then transition play to Atlanta on Tuesday for a three-game series. These two teams split their first two games this season, including a 14-10 Cubs' victory in which Chicago scored 12 consecutive runs to comeback from a 10-2 deficit to win.

In his last three starts, Jose Quintana is 2-1 with a 0.53 ERA and a .197 batting average against in 17.0 innings. Quintana was roughed up on April 14 in a no-decision against Atlanta, allowing seven earned runs in 2.1 innings.

In two starts since leaving a game early with right trapezius tightness, Julio Teheran has not allowed a run and has struck out 13 batters compared to just two walks in 13.0 innings. In seven career starts against the Cubs, Teheran has a 3.09 ERA and has limited Chicago hitters to a .199 batting average.

Ender Inciarte has hit a home run in two consecutive games and has four multi-hit games in his past five games played. Inciarte leads MLB with 17 stolen bases this season.

ATLANTA -- Chicago Cubs left-hander Jon Lester has made 356 career starts. Atlanta Braves right-hander Mike Soroka has made three.
The 34-year-old veteran and the 20-year-old rookie will oppose each other Thursday night at SunTrust Park as the Cubs and Braves conclude a three-game series and four games in a row against each other because of Monday's makeup game in Chicago.

ATLANTA (AP)  The final game of a three-game series between the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves was postponed because of rain Thursday night.
The Braves announced that the game will be made up Aug. 30.
