The Mariners took two of three against the White Sox this week and ride a 4-2 road trip into Cleveland. Seattle is a perfect 13-0 when leading at the end of the sixth or later, one of four teams yet to lose this season; only Arizona (16-0) has more wins.

Cleveland split a two-game series at home against the Cubs this week in a rematch of the 2016 World Series, and has won four of its last five overall. The Indians have held opponents to three runs or fewer 17 times this season, third-most in MLB (Houston, 19; Boston, 18).

Seattle took two out of three over the Indians at home to open the season, with all three games decided by one run. The Mariners have not won multiple series against the Indians since 2014.

Mitch Haniger is 12-for-31 (.387) over his last eight games, including eight extra base hits (four doubles, four HR). He has a hit in all six of his career games against the Indians, and has homered in his last two games against them.

Jose Ramirez has notched a hit in his last five games and 12 of his last 13, logging six home runs over that span. His .400 average in that span (since April 9) is the best in the American League and third best in MLB (minimum 45 PA).

Mike Clevinger notched his first career complete-game shutout on Saturday in Baltimore, and is 2-0 with a 1.75 ERA in four starts this season. He has a 1.36 ERA since September 1 last year, third best in MLB in that span (minimum 50 IP), trailing only Justin Verlander (1.22) and teammate Corey Kluber (1.36).

CLEVELAND -- With a new outfielder potentially on the way, the Cleveland Indians will host the Seattle Mariners on Thursday in the opener of a four-game series.
The potential roster addition is Melky Cabrera, whose signing to a minor league contract with the Indians became official on Wednesday. In a combined 620 at-bats for the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals last year, the 33-year-old switch-hitter hit .285 with 17 home runs and 85 RBIs.

CLEVELAND (AP)  The first day without Andrew Miller didn't work out too well for the Cleveland Indians.
Kyle Seager's RBI double in the eighth off Nick Goody lifted the Seattle Mariners to a 5-4 win on Thursday night.
