The Twins outscored the Padres 19-1 while sweeping the two-game series. Minnesota now has 10 series sweeps this season, its most since sweeping 10 series in 2006.

The Blue Jays had a four-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday. Toronto has lost 24 one-run games on the year, second most in the AL behind the Yankees with 25.

Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Wednesday's win over San Diego. Mauer now has a team-high 12 games with at least three hits this season, one fewer than he had in the previous two seasons combined (13).

Richard Urena extended his hitting streak to six games after going 1-for-4 with a double in the loss on Wednesday. Urena is now 10-for-25 (.400) over his last six games, after going just 2-for-13 (.154) through his first four games.

Jose Berrios allowed two runs on eight hits in seven innings in a no decision at the Royals last Saturday. Berrios is the first Twins pitcher to throw 130+ innings at age-23 or younger since Kyle Lohse in 2002.

Brett Anderson threw his second quality start in a row in a win on Saturday against the Tigers. After putting up an 8.18 ERA in six starts for the Cubs, Anderson has pitched to a 3.06 ERA in three starts with Toronto.
