The Blue Jays beat the Red Sox, 8-6, in Boston on Thursday, splitting the four-game series. It was just the second time in their last 44 games that they've scored at least eight runs. They scored at least eight runs seven times in their first 51 games.

The Indians lost to the Giants, 5-4, in San Francisco on Wednesday, despite holding a 3-2 lead after six and a 4-2 lead heading to the bottom of the eighth inning. Entering Wednesday, the Indians were 42-2 in games in which they led after six innings, the third-best record in MLB.

Cleveland's ace struck out a season-high 14 in 7 2/3 innings and showed no signs of the neck problem that pushed back him back in the rotation with another dominating performance in the Indians' 8-1 victory Sunday.
