Michelle Wie announced on Instagram that she will miss the rest of the 2018 season after undergoing hand surgery to fix a lingering issue.

The 29-year-old had bone spurs, nerve entrapment, and an avulsion fracture on her right hand.

The injury forced her to withdraw from the Women's British Open in August, and she didn't play again until two weeks ago at the UL International Crown.

Wie has suffered numerous injuries throughout her career, including neck, back, hip, knee, and ankle issues. She also had an emergency appendectomy in late 2017, forcing her to miss time.

"I don't think there is one joint or bone in her body that hasn't had some sort of injury or issue," her longtime coach David Leadbetter said earlier this year, according to Randall Mell of Golf Channel.
