This week's winners and losers from the golf world

Winners:

Daniel Berger

Berger successfully defended his title this week in Memphis thanks to a bogey-free 66 on Sunday. The 24-year-old became the first repeat champion of the St. Jude Classic since David Toms accomplished the feat in 2003-04.

Dylan Frittelli

The South African won his first European Tour title on Sunday, posting a final-round 67 to win the Lyoness Open by one shot over three other players. Frittelli made a clutch putt on the 17th hole to save par, then made a two-putt par at the final hole to secure the victory.

"I'm really happy with the way the week went - super stoked to get my first win on the European Tour. I think it's been a long time coming and I am glad to be inside the winner's circle," Frittelli told europeantour.com after the round.

Olympic golf

The International Olympic Committee voted on Friday to keep golf in the Olympics through the 2024 Games. Players knew they would attend the 2020 Tokyo Games, but participation beyond that was uncertain. Both Paris and Los Angeles are in the running for the 2024 Games. Le Golf National would be the site in Paris, while Riviera Country Club would host in Los Angeles.

Losers:

The PGA of America

The PGA Championship has had more makeovers than any of the majors. The tournament has changed taglines, formats, qualification procedures - and now it looks like it's getting a new date ... again. CEO Peter Bevacqua sent a video to his membership Wednesday, stating they are looking into moving its championship from August to May. The tournament has been played in nine of the 12 months over it's 99-year history.

Mickelson's finishing rounds

What could have been for Phil Mickelson this week in Memphis at the St. Jude Classic. Mickelson put together some quality rounds, only to watch them vanish down the stretch. The 46-year-old hasn't won on tour in nearly four years, and had a great opportunity this week. However, Phil made a double-bogey at the last on Friday, had a 3-over finish Saturday, and then made a triple bogey at 12 on Sunday.
