Villarreal could be without the services of Mexican attacker Giovani Dos Santos for the remainder of the season.
The club confirmed Monday that Dos Santos, 25, is dealing with a thigh strain in his right leg, and ESPN FC reported that he could be out of action for up to four weeks. That timeline would rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Dos Santos's season has been marred by injuries, and the electric forward has started only 14 of Villarreal's 32 league matches.
