Report: Barca approach Spurs about Ndombele, Sessegnon

Barcelona have set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur duo Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon.

The Catalan club has opened talks with Spurs about their availability, but, as things stand, Tottenham are reluctant to part with either player, according to Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard.

Barcelona are unable to buy the players outright due to due to financial restrictions and will instead reportedly look to reach an agreement by offering Tottenham players plus cash in a bid to sign the two footballers, who have yet to complete a season in north London.

Tottenham dished out a combined £80 million to sign Sessegnon and Ndombele last summer, with the latter costing a club-record £55 million. But a lack of regular playing time and friction with manager Jose Mourinho has frustrated both players.

Ndombele reportedly vowed that he will never play for the Portuguese coach again after their latest falling-out. The two were involved in a row at training in June that was believed to be about Ndombele's omission during Tottenham's first matches after the season restarted.

Barcelona have been interested in the midfielder since he was at Lyon, with the Spanish club's sporting director, Eric Abidal, leading the campaign to sign him in the next transfer window. The 23-year-old has only appeared in 19 matches this season.

Meanwhile, Sessegnon, who joined Spurs from Fulham for £25 million last year, has not appeared in a match since the campaign resumed in June despite being fully fit. However, Mourinho is blocking Barcelona's approach for the 20-year-old, Kilpatrick reports.

Although it's unclear which players Barcelona might make available in order to convince Tottenham to sell, Nelson Semedo, Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti, and Philippe Coutinho are expected to be the most likely departures from the Camp Nou this summer.
