AC Milan are ready to spend big to provide Krzysztof Piatek with the ideal foil.

The Rossoneri reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid over the signing of versatile forward Angel Correa, reports Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia. The Serie A side will pay an initial €40 million, with an additional €17 million in bonuses potentially shifting hands as well.

Di Marzio adds that Milan chief Zvonimir Boban was in Spain on Sunday to define the final details of the transfer, which will see Correa become the club's fourth marquee signing of the summer.

New manager Marco Giampaolo has seen his arrival coincide with those of Rade Krunic and Theo Hernandez, while a deal for Empoli midfielder Ismael Bennacer is on the verge of completion; the Algerian underwent a medical on Monday.

Correa, 24, will vault right up the attacking pecking order at the San Siro.

The diminutive Argentine, who notched three goals and two assists in 36 La Liga appearances last season, should slot in alongside Piatek, who used a breakout 2018-19 campaign to establish himself as Milan's undisputed No. 9.

Correa's impending transfer could also set into motion a pair of sales, with Di Marzio noting that both Patrick Cutrone and Andre Silva could soon be on their way out. Ambitious Premier League side Wolverhampton are said to be interested in the young Italian striker, while Silva, who spent last season on loan with Sevilla, is inching toward a move to Monaco.
