It looks increasingly likely Brahim Diaz will play in Spain in the future, as James Ducker of The Telegraph reports Real Madrid are close to a £15-million move for the disgruntled Manchester City youngster.

Ducker notes the two clubs have yet to finalize terms of the move, although the transfer could be confirmed as soon as the winter window opens on Jan. 1.

Diaz, whose contract with the Citizens is set to expire at the end of the season, has been frustrated with a lack of playing time under manager Pep Guardiola.

Though City's boss publicly urged the Spanish youth international to sign a new deal with the Manchester side in November, Diaz's first-team appearances have remained sparse. The 19-year-old has yet to play a single minute in the current Premier League campaign after making just five league appearances during City's 100-point title win last season.

Should the move be finalized, it will mark a significant exit for yet another City youth star following Jadon Sancho's move to Borussia Dortmund in August 2017. The 18-year-old joined City's academy in 2015 after coming up with Watford, but he opted to leave for the German club after reported disagreements regarding his playing time in Manchester.

Following a relatively quiet debut Bundesliga campaign, Sancho has affixed himself in Dortmund's starting XI this season, scoring six goals and contributing eight assists for a club that sits atop the table after 17 matches.
