Andres Iniesta confirmed Wednesday he has an offer on the table from an unnamed Chinese club, and vowed to make a decision about his future before the end of April.

The 33-year-old signed a historic "lifetime" contract with Barcelona in October after months of uncertainty.

But the opportunity to play in the lucrative Chinese Super League may be too tempting to turn down.

"I must decide before April 30 whether to stay at Barcelona or go to China," Iniesta told reporters Wednesday, according to Reuters. "I have to weigh up which is best for me and for the club."

Iniesta - who made his debut for Barcelona in 2002 - wouldn't be the first to depart Catalonia for the promise of riches in football backwaters. Xavi opted to join Al Sadd in 2015 after nearly two decades with Barcelona, while becoming an ambassador for Qatar's 2022 World Cup campaign.

Iniesta recovered from a hamstring injury in time to face Chelsea in the second leg of their last-16 matchup, helping his team to a 4-1 aggregate victory.
