Liverpool and Real Madrid both have one boot in the quarter-finals thanks to victories Wednesday in the Champions League last-16, and with nine goals between the two fixtures, there were plenty of stunning statistics.

Here's a glance at some notable numbers from an exciting European soiree:

1: Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first player to score 100 Champions League goals for one club. Lionel Messi is on 97 for Barcelona.

2: Roberto Firmino's seven Champions League goals equal Steven Gerrard's Liverpool club-record for tallies in one continental campaign.

3: Sadio Mane's hat-trick was the first treble scored by a Senegalese player in Champions League history.

4: Mane again, as the third jewel of Jurgen Klopp's attacking crown becomes the fourth Liverpool player to register a Champions League hat-trick, joining Michael Owen, Yossi Benayoun, and Philippe Coutinho.

5: Loris Karius' five clean sheets are a tournament best. That is not a typo.

6: James Milner's half-dozen assists are tops in the competition, two better than Kevin De Bruyne and Dele Alli. Premier League prominence.

7: Ronaldo has scored 10 or more goals in seven consecutive Champions League campaigns. No other player in the competition's history has more than two.

11: With Zinedine Zidane at the helm, Real has won 11 of its last 15 knockout stage matches.

24: Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar gave away possession 24 times.

28: Liverpool's 28 goals is tops among all sides, with 25 of those coming across the last five matches.

30: Mohamed Salah is the first Liverpool player to score 30 goals in all competitions since Luis Suarez did so in 2013-14.

116: Ronaldo's 116 Champions League goals are more than 118 of the 137 clubs that have appeared in Europe's marquee tournament.
