Zinedine Zidane is unequivocal in his belief about where Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing next season: Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old Ronaldo recently enjoyed one of the most dominant 13 months in footballing history by procuring two Champions League titles, finishing at La Liga's summit, and hoisting the Club World Cup with Los Blancos, and winning Euro 2016 with Portugal.

A much-publicised probe from the Spanish tax authorities apparently unsettled the forward, however, leading to speculation that Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid for a transfer costing as much as €400 million. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were linked with audacious and lucrative moves for the megastar.

"In the end, Cristiano is one of us," Zidane told ESPN FC. "He's going to stay with us. And that's it. He's on holiday as of today. He's resting, as he's deserved it. We wait for him to finish his holiday and join us."

As Real Madrid's all-time top goal-scorer and talisman, replacing Ronaldo would be near impossible - even if a plausible heir is snapped up like 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe.

The capital outfit is one of the teams possibly wrapped up in Monaco's claims that "important European football clubs" have been tapping up their breakout teenage star, so Zidane was unsurprisingly guarded about Real Madrid's alleged interest.

"(He's a) very good player. His talent at 18 years, his personality is very good," Zidane shared. "As a player, everything that he showed all last year and nothing more. He's not my player; apart from what I told you, I can't say more."

Real Madrid will test itself against Manchester United in Sunday's International Champions Cup meeting in Santa Clara, Calif.
