Sevilla president Jose Castro can envisage a scenario where his club benefits from the sale of Steven N'Zonzi to Juventus.

The imposing midfielder has been linked with a move to the Italian champion following his successful spell with Sevilla.

Despite Juve manager Max Allegri admitting that he's not targeting the 28-year-old, Castro seems to think that the Bianconeri are lining up a move for N'Zonzi.

"I haven't closed the door to Juventus because perhaps it's something that interests us and we may even benefit from it (his transfer)," Castro said in an interview with El Confidencial newspaper, as translated by Adriana Garcia of ESPNFC. "We haven't spoken to N'Zonzi about his release clause."

Convincing the Spanish side to sell, however, will require a substantial bid considering that Sevilla reportedly rejected Leicester City's €30-million offer last summer. It's understood that N'Zonzi will only be sold if a club is willing to match his €40-million release clause, according to Marca.

The increased release clause was allegedly included in the new one-year contract extension N'Zonzi signed in Janaury, which is designed to keep the Frenchman at Sevilla until 2020.

N'Zonzi has played a prominent role with the Spanish side since his arrival from Stoke City in 2015. He was named to the Europa League's team of the season during the 2015-16 campaign after helping Sevilla win its third consecutive continental competition.
