The eight teams still standing in this season's Europa League learned their respective routes to the title match during Friday's draw for the quarterfinal and semifinal stages of the competition.

There will be some sly smiles in England, as tournament favorites Manchester United and Arsenal came out with relatively favorable draws; the two Premier League sides, who will take on Granada and Slavia Prague in the quarters, can't meet until the tournament final.

The standout fixture of the last eight will pit Ajax, UEFA Cup winners in 1992, against AS Roma, who are looking to hoist the trophy for the first time.

Dinamo Zagreb, on the back of their stunning comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, have another difficult task, this time against Villarreal.

Quarterfinal matchups

  • Match 1: Granada vs. Manchester United
  • Match 2: Arsenal vs. Slavia Prague
  • Match 3: Ajax vs. AS Roma
  • Match 4: Dinamo Zagreb vs. Villarreal

The clubs listed first will play the opening leg of their respective ties at home. Quarterfinal first legs will take place April 8, with the return fixtures scheduled for April 15.

Semifinal matchups

  • Winner of quarterfinal 1 vs. winner of quarterfinal 3
  • Winner of quarterfinal 4 vs. winner of quarterfinal 2

The semifinal matches will be played April 29 and May 6.

This season's Europa League final is slated for May 26 at the Gdansk Stadium in Poland.
