Sime Vrsaljko will spend the upcoming season in Italy following confirmation that Atletico Madrid will loan the Croatian right-back to Inter Milan with an option to buy after the 2018-19 campaign.

The agreement, which will be made official pending a physical, is reportedly worth €6.5 million and includes a €17.5-million option to buy.

A brief statement from Atletico on Vrsaljko, as translated by Football Italia, read: "After two seasons defending the colors of our club, during which he demonstrated his talent and sacrifice, we want to wish him all the best in his new adventure with Inter, who have an option to buy.”

The 26-year-old Vrsaljko becomes Inter's seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of Radja Nainggolan, Stefan de Vrij, Lautaro Martínez, Federico Dimarco, Matteo Politano, and Kwadwo Asamoah.

Vrsaljko, who played a prominent role in helping Croatia reach the World Cup final in Russia, is expected to feature in manager Luciano Spalletti's starting backline alongside Joao Miranda, Milan Skriniar, and Asamoah.

Shortly after the deal was confirmed, Atletico announced the signing of Colombian right-back Santiago Arias on a five-year contract from PSV Eindhoven.
