Maurizio Sarri's revolution at Chelsea will reportedly continue with the signing of Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.

Having already brought Italy midfielder Jorginho with him to Stamford Bridge from Napoli, Sarri is thought to be looking at overhauling his central defensive partnership with the addition of Jorginho's Azzurri teammate.

According to the Evening Standard's Simon Johnson, the 23-year-old Rugani will swap Turin for London for a transfer fee of over £44 million and will sign a five-year contract worth £77,000 per week.

Napoli drove a hard bargain in the deal which saw Sarri and Jorginho join the Blues, and Juventus appears to have done the same with Rugani. Johnson reported three weeks ago Chelsea had offered just £35 million for the defender.

Rugani already looks good in blue, having won seven senior caps for the Italian national team. Generally a deputy centre-back for the Bianconeri last season behind the titanic veteran pairing of Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli, he only signed a new five-year contract with the club in December.

Should his move to Chelsea go through, Juve will have recouped nearly half of the transfer fee spent on bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin, while Rugani will become the west London club's most expensive defensive signing in history.
