Madrid - Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has been released from the Spain squad due to face Belgium on Tuesday due to a knee injury picked up in the 2-0 win over England.
A scan on Saturday diagnosed an oedema in his right knee and he has been allowed to return to Munich for further treatment, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said in a statement.
However, the RFEF refused to state how long the 24-year-old may be sidelined.

Thiago was replaced midway through the first-half by Santi Cazorla in Friday's friendly after going down under no apparent pressure.
The former Barcelona man has only recently returned to the national team after nearly a year out due to cruciate ligament damage in the same knee.
