In images reminiscent of Wembley's welcome for travelling France fans days after the horrific Paris terror attacks in November 2015, the home crowd in Tuesday's friendly joined visiting England supporters in singing their national anthem, "God Save the Queen."
The French gesture was in tribute to those who lost their lives in the recent bombing of the Manchester Arena and, 12 days later, in the June 3 attacks in London.
Before the anthems were played, the Stade de France sung a rendition of Oasis' 1996 single "Don't Look Back in Anger."
