Wesley Sneijder's decorated career has its latest achievement, as the 32-year-old midfielder equalled Edwin van der Sar's Netherlands cap record with 130.

Sneijder, who plies his trade with Istanbul giant Galatasaray, came on in the 70th minute of Sunday's international friendly against the Ivory Coast in Rotterdam to match the former Manchester United shot-stopper's standard for appearances.

After making his senior debut for the Netherlands against Portugal in April 2003 to become the eighth-youngest Oranje debutant, Sneijder would go on to participate in three World Cups and three Euros, finishing as runner-up in the 2010 tournament in South Africa. The Dutch also nabbed third-place honours at the 2014 World Cup and at Euro 2004.

The Dutch went on to top the Ivorians 5-0 at the Stadion Feyenoord courtesy of a Joel Veltman double and goals from Arjen Robben, Davy Klaassen, and Vincent Janssen.
