Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has cast doubt on his future in the French capital following his acceptance speech for Ligue 1 Player of the Year during Sunday's ceremony.

"I feel that it is time for me to have more responsibility," Mbappe admitted in his native tongue. "Maybe here in Paris, I would be happy, or maybe somewhere else then. In any case, thanks, everyone."

"I succeeded in adapting in my first year, to change position this year," Mbappe continued. "There were some disappointments, but that is part of football. This is a very important moment for me. I am arriving at the second turning point in my career"

Winner of both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year, Mbappe appeared to suggest either a demand for more authority with the Ligue 1 champions or a change of scenery. The World Cup winner claimed last month that his future lay with PSG despite links with a move to Real Madrid.

"Am I sure to stay at PSG? Yes, I'm committed to the project," the 20-year-old said following a 3-1 victory over Monaco in April.

"Good for Real that they have Zizou, but I will watch the matches as an admirer," Mbappe added on the heels of complimentary words from Real boss Zinedine Zidane.

Mbappe, who in his second year at PSG, led Ligue 1 with 32 goals as Thomas Tuchel's charges stampeded to a sixth league title in seven tries.
