Neymar sent to hospital with latest ankle worry
Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel said he's "worried" after Neymar went to the hospital with a suspected ankle injury suffered during Wednesday's cup clash against Strasbourg.
Neymar limped off the pitch at the hour mark in noticeable pain after a trio of tackles from Strasbourg midfielder Moataz Zemzemi, the last of which appeared to aggravate the injury that saw the Brazilian star miss 15 league matches last season.
"No, I did not talk to Neymar (after the game) because he’s in the hospital," Tuchel told reporters following the 2-0 last-32 victory, according to The Guardian.
"Yes, I’m worried. It’s always complicated (with these kind of injuries). It’s the same foot and the same metatarsal (as the previous injury). The referee did not whistle after one tackle, then a second, then a third. After that, he has twisted his foot."
Without a time frame for Neymar's return, PSG will hope that he's fit to travel to face Manchester United on Feb. 12 for the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie.
