PSG confirms Neymar's exclusion from Montpellier trip
Paris Saint-Germain confirmed Neymar won't play Saturday against Montpellier, after manager Unai Emery excluded the world's most expensive footballer from his 18-man squad.
Although PSG gave no official reason for the omission, French radio station RMC reported Friday he'd miss the contest with a foot injury.
Angel Di Maria remains on the sidelines with a thigh concern.
News of Neymar's absence comes at a delicate time for PSG. The Brazilian quarreled with teammate Edinson Cavani last weekend over free-kick and penalty-taking duties. Neymar reportedly apologised to the Uruguayan at the club's training ground Wednesday, while Dani Alves arranged for a peace-making dinner.
It's just about the only thing that's hung up PSG's otherwise impeccable start to the 2017-18 campaign. Emery's side has won all eight of its competitive matches by a combined 28-4 score line.
