Lens sink derby rivals Lille in Ligue 1

Florian Thauvin scored as Lens beat Lille 3-0 in Ligue 1 on Saturday to inflict a first defeat of the season on their northern derby rivals.

Wesley Said prodded in from close range to give Lens the lead in heavy rain before former France international Thauvin drilled in a second for the hosts.

Teenager Rayan Fofana bagged a third early in the second half as Lens moved up to fourth place, three points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon.

Lille stayed in third and are two points off the pace.

Brest picked up their first win of the season earlier on Saturday as they thrashed Nice 4-1 to climb out of the relegation zone.

Ludovic Ajorque and Romain Del Castillo struck early for Brest, with Terem Moffi pulling one back for Nice before second-half goals from Joris Chotard and Remy Labeau Lascary secured victory.

Rennes blew a two-goal lead as Nantes snatched a stoppage-time equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Habib Beye's side led through a Ludovic Blas penalty and a goal from Esteban Lepaul, but Nantes fought back with efforts from Junior Mwanga and Youssef El-Arabi.

Reigning champions PSG are the only team to have won their first four games and travel to Marseille on Sunday.
